Antonia and Panesar Peaky Blinders Coffee Review

From the description on both the pack and the website, it has an explosive strong dark coffee punch that's smooth and a seductive finish., Apparently, Just how the Peaky Blinders like it.

Setup of the Antonia and Panesar Peaky Blinders Coffee

This was the last coffee to use the Bodum 1.5-litre cold brew coffee maker before moving over to the OXO cold brew Coffee maker, so I added 157g of coffee to it and let it cold brew for 14 hours.

The taste of the Antonia and Panesar Peaky Blinders Coffee

Straight away, you can taste almost a “burnt” taste when taking the first sip.  This is usually because it's a dark roast, and for me that's the initial impact you're going to get.  However, after a few more sips, the Strete really kicks in.

By the time I have finished my one cup, the caffeine really hits you and wakes you up. This is how dark it was post brew and fridge storage:

Considerations

It's £11.45 posted for 227g of the Antonia and Panesar Peaky Blinders Coffee. That is on the premium side of the coffee spectrum, however, the massive caffeine hit that gets you right away is almost worth the cost by itself as it really does wake you up.

The Score

I will give Antonia and Panesar Peaky Blinders Coffee 3 beans of 5

The  Asda Extra Special Brazilian Roast & Ground Coffee caught my eye and I had to give it a try With a higher strength of 4, the dark medium roast has a nutty note. Setup of the Asda Extra Special Brazilian Roast & Ground Coffee This is already ground coffee so no need to grind it and as it's a stronger coffee, I put 160g of it in the Bodum: Then added cold tap water, ready to start my 12-hour (plus 2 hours after a stir) brew: The Taste After storing in the fridge in the Hario: It was time to pour my usual 300ml into my Beast Cup: What I found is that it wasn't as strong as I thought but, was a little sharp.  So after popping in a bit of water, I found the optimal ratio was 300ml coffee concentrate to 50ml water . That was enough to remove the sharpness and give off a slight hint of nut showing. Still, it wasn't as strong as it claimed but, it was just about drinka...
