Hard Lines Colombia El Carmen Cold Brew Coffee Review

The Colombia El Carmen from Hard Lines, located in my home city of Cardiff, was calling out to me. Why? Cherry Bakewell favoured. I have not had a washed coffee since my first review and was very eager to taste it. Another Local Coffee for the Local people With 14 hour Cold Brewing Period in my Bodum Cold Brew Coffee Maker, The Colombia El Carmen from Hard Lines came out exactly as i expected. A very smooth, not so strong but tasted of a Cherry Bakewell. There wasn't much extra water needed to dilute it as it came out perfect, and it can be drank black, which is always a winner. The price per 250g was £11.50, which is a bit on the expensive side. However, if you want a treat and mix it up a little from the norm, this is certainly worth a try. I shall give The Colombia El Carmen from Hard Lines 4 out of 5 Beans 🫘

Bridge Coffee Roasters Cold Brew Coffee Review

As local as I can get! The Brazil Single Origin 01 from Bridge Coffee Roasters, located in my hometown of Ystrad Mynach in the county of Caerphilly, caught my eye recently. Local Coffee for Local People Setup and The Taste With 14 hour Cold Brewing Period in my Bodum Cold Brew Coffee Maker, This Brazilian number came out very smooth and very tasty with a nice hint of walnut. Only a bit of Water was needed, and it can be drank black, which is always a winner. Considerations The price per 250g was £10.95, which is a bit on the expensive side. However, as of the 23rd of May, Bridge has ceased selling directly to consumers and is only now being sold wholesale. It's a shame, as the coffee was one of the best, but not strong, coffees I've had in a long time. The Score I shall give Bridge Coffee Roasters Brazil Single Origin 01 4 out of 5 Beans 🫘

Ferrari's Siena Cold Brew Coffee Review

Whenever I got to TK Maxx, I always check what they have on offer in the coffee section.  This time, I think I found a diamond in the rough when I discovered a locally based coffee From Ferrari's in Bridgend, South Wales. The one I found was Ferrari's Siena Coffee , and it was labelled as Extra strong, which got my attention. Extra Strong Diamond in the rough from Tk Maxx This is an Extra Dark Roast from Bridgend. It is full of bold and intense flavours, with notes of dark chocolate and roasted walnuts. Setup of the Ferrari's Siena Coffee I found the sweet spot of 190 grams of coffee to 1.3 litres of coffee for the new OXO cold Brew Coffee Maker .  I let it brew for around 12 hours and then letting it slowly drip. The Taste The best way I can explain the taste of the Ferrari's Siena is a classic cup of coffee.  Just as you would find in a café in a classic hot cup of coffee, this cold brew came out just like that.   That's a good thing as sometimes, all you want...

Scout Coffee Roasters Basecamp Cold Brew Coffee Review

This Valentine's Day, my wife treated me to some local coffee. All the way from Newport, South Wales (well just around the corner from me really) comes Basecamp Coffee from Scout Coffee Roasters . Dib Dib Dob Dob, A Strong Brazilian from the Port!   Basecamp uses a classic Brazilian bean.  Even my wife knows what coffee I really love. This bean, unlike the others I have tasted before, is a light bean with notes of dark chocolate, caramel and almond.   Setup of the Scout Coffee Roasters Basecamp Coffee Using the OXO cold Brew Coffee Maker , adding 1.3 litres of water to the whole bag of 250g ground coffee.  I went with an Aeropress Grind this time, which was a bit finer than I'm used to. The Taste While pouring the coffee through the Hario Jug with custom cheese cloth filter, I found the coffee very strong. The coffee had to be diluted a bit more than usual to get the right taste. After sorting out the strength, the taste was very much of dark chocolate.  That s...

Antonia and Panesar Peaky Blinders Cold Brew Coffee Review

My good friend Dan lives down the road to where Antonia and Panesar are based, up in Yorkshire. He is such a legend, he sent me a care package of coffee for me to try. First out the Box was Antonia and Panesar Peaky Blinders Coffee As, well, the name alone sold it for me. Let's give Antonia and Panesar Peaky Blinders Coffee a minute and see how it turned out From the description on both the pack and the website, it has an explosive strong dark coffee punch that's smooth and a seductive finish., Apparently, Just how the Peaky Blinders like it. Setup of the Antonia and Panesar Peaky Blinders Coffee This was the last coffee to use the Bodum 1.5-litre cold brew coffee maker before moving over to the OXO cold brew Coffee maker, so I added 157g of coffee to it and let it cold brew for 14 hours. The taste of the Antonia and Panesar Peaky Blinders Coffee Straight away, you can taste almost a “burnt” taste when taking the first sip.  This is usually because it's a dark roast, and...
